Chairman, Energy Planning Committee of National Civil Defence (2 years)

During this time, in 1992 until 1994, Mr Collinge was also appointed by the Government (Minister Graeme Lee) to Chair the Energy Planning Committee of National Civil Defence. This Committee was charged with the important civil defence considerations of ensuring electricity and natural gas supply systems in an emergency at national, regional and local levels; ensuring resources for restoration of damaged systems of electricity and natural gas; and establishing operational plans in relation thereto. While there was fortunately no need to call upon them, Mr Collinge took an active interest in updating the plans.
